Trophy Mule Deer Hunt

Mule deer are hunted in open terrain, so be ready to glass long distances and pick apart the hillsides. Typical shot opportunities range from 300 to 400 yards, sometimes farther. We highly encourage a minimum .270 caliber rifle, or muzzleloader, along with a quality pair of 10x–12x binoculars for glassing the country. Most guided mule deer hunts involve driving and glassing large expanses of terrain, then making a spot‑and‑stalk approach to close the distance for a clean shot. A comfortable pair of boots and a reliable day pack are recommended, as we spend most of the day in the field covering as much ground as possible.
